<p>Lawisa sat beside her, raising an eyebrow. “What do you mean? Even you can see that this man isn’t like others. If he were just an ordinary rich man, he wouldn’t have driven us home.”</p><p>“So, I want you to marry him,” she continued.</p><p>Maimuna shook her head. “I can’t get married and leave you behind.”</p><p>“Well, you don’t have a choice,” Lawisa insisted. “If you get married, I will be happy for you. As for me, I can live my life without marriage. Every day, a new handsome young man is available.”</p><p>“But if you marry him, he’ll have to find me a big house too because I can’t live with you in a marital home. I won’t be able to bring men around.”</p><p>“I also don’t chase men. They come to me,” she added smugly.</p><p>“Let’s just hope he truly likes me,” Maimuna said.</p><p>“Oh, he will,” Lawisa assured her. “Just give it three days. I’m certain he’ll be here by tomorrow.”</p><p>They laughed, and Maimuna whispered, “I hope so.”</p><p>Alhaji Lamido Saraki’s Story</p><p>Alhaji Lamido Saraki was born and raised in Bauchi. He was an only child, and after completing his university education, he lost both his parents. Since he had no close relatives, he inherited their wealth.</p><p>He ventured into business, quickly becoming very wealthy. He built a grand house in Tambari but outside the estate. He also owned three fuel stations, two large supermarkets, and multiple commercial trucks rented out for transport.</p><p>He had been reluctant to marry due to his fear of modern women’s deceitful nature.</p><p>His first wife was the daughter of a wealthy man. He thought that since she came from money, she wouldn’t be after his wealth. However, within less than a year of marriage, he caught her stealing from him.</p><p>He immediately divorced her. Thankfully, she wasn’t pregnant.</p><p>Three years later, he saw a young girl begging on the streets. Feeling pity, he helped her family by renovating their home and giving her parents capital to start a business.</p><p>A month later, he married her, thinking a poor woman would appreciate him more.</p><p>At first, things were great, but after a year, she started stealing from him. He eventually caught her red-handed, trying to smuggle food supplies out of his home. He divorced her as well.</p><p>This broke him, and he vowed never to marry again.</p><p>For two years, he focused solely on his businesses, living alone except for his housekeeper, Babaye, whom he had rescued from the streets. Babaye had become like a brother to him.</p><p>Back to Maimuna and Lawisa</p><p>Alhaji kept his promise and visited the women to hear their story. They welcomed him with a delicious meal and a refreshing drink.</p><p>Lawisa fabricated a sob story, claiming that Maimuna was her elder sister who had been deceived by a man who stole her inheritance and abandoned her.</p><p>Deeply moved, Alhaji shared his own past with them.</p><p>Then, he made his decision: he wanted to marry Maimuna.</p><p>But he insisted on going to her hometown to formally ask for her hand in marriage.</p><p>Maimuna and Lawisa panicked.</p><p>“What do we do now?” Maimuna asked.</p><p>Lawisa smirked. “We go to a witch doctor.
