Yar Mulki Complete book by Hauwa'u S. Ahmad .txt

"Honey."

He turned to look at her but didn't say anything. However, one glance at his eyes was enough to see that he was exhausted.

"What is it, my Feena?"

She pouted and rested her head on his chest, playing with the soft hair on his chest.

"I'm hungry, and I want you to cook for me right now."

He looked at her.

"My Feena, don't you have any pity for me? I just got back from the office."

"Fine, since you won’t do it, there's no need to bring up the matter again. I’ll just sit here and starve."

She pulled away from him and went to sit on a chair far from where Ammar was sitting. Ammar held his head in his hands—he was beyond exhausted from work, and he was also hungry. All he had taken was juice. But now Feena was upset with him, insisting that he cook for her.

He sighed and walked over to where she was sitting.

"Come on, my Fee. Why are you upset? You know I don’t like seeing you angry. And our baby, too—what would you like me to cook for you?"

She turned her face away, frowning.

"Forget it. I’ve lost my appetite."

She turned back to the television and continued watching her show.

"Come on, Fee, don’t be mad. Just tell me what you want, and I’ll go to the kitchen and cook it for you right now."

"I want rice with fish stew and cucumber juice."

Ammar widened his eyes as the thought hit him, but he quickly responded, "Consider it done, my Fee. Let me just change my clothes first, okay?"

"Okay, but be quick because your baby has been moving around so much in my belly."

He moved closer to her and lifted her shirt slightly, revealing her belly. He kissed her belly tenderly, his heart filled with joy.

"My Fee, won’t you help me take off my clothes?"

"My Honey, I don’t know how. You’re a grown man; take them off yourself!"

She focused on her television show while he went into the bedroom. He headed straight to the bathroom, took a cold shower to refresh himself, then came out wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt and three-quarter pants. He walked into the kitchen and began preparing the meal his queen had ordered.

Meanwhile, in the village…

"Dije, do you really think we should be separated like this? Just like that?"

Habu looked at Dije, his voice filled with pain.

"Dije, please remember how much I love you. Go and tell Baffa that you don’t want this marriage. Tell him that I am the one you love, Dije."

Dije lifted her face, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Habu, have you forgotten that every dutiful child seeks to honor their parents? Have you forgotten that they are the reason we are in this world? Have you forgotten that no one holds more importance than them? They feed us, clothe us, and provide for us. It is our duty to obey them if we want to have a blessed life."

She wiped her tears and continued, "I will never question Baffa’s decision to arrange my marriage with Ammar, the grandson of the village chief. I will never bring him shame or make him regret granting this request. I will accept and live with whomever Baffa has chosen for me."

She paused, trying to control her sobs.

Habu sighed deeply.

"Alright, Dije. May Allah make it easy for you. You have reminded me of something I had forgotten—that everything comes from Allah, and whatever is destined to happen will happen. Since the day the world was created, everything has been written. May this be for your own good, Dije. Obey Baffa’s decision, and obey your husband."

He hesitated, then added, "You know how city people are. They despise us village folk. You will have to endure a lot, but be patient. One day, your patience will turn into a reward. No matter what happens, don’t cry to anyone. Instead, perform ablution, pray, and take your worries to the Almighty—the One who has no partner, the Lord of the heavens and the earth. Ask Him for relief, and He will grant it to you."

Dije nodded.

"Thank you, Habu, for your wise words. I will hold onto everything you have said."

"Don’t worry, Dije. From now on, I will see you as a sister. I was supposed to leave for the city in a week for my studies, but before I could go, this marriage arrangement happened."

He pulled off the ring on his finger.

"Dije, take this and wear it. One day, you will remember me and pray for me. May Allah bless me with a wife like you, Dije. Goodbye."
