It took some effort before the crowd dispersed enough for him to make his way inside the house. As he entered the grand living room, an incredibly spacious and luxurious parlor, an elderly man—an old man, though still handsome despite his age—was seated majestically on a beautiful chair.

Seeing his son enter, the old man quickly got up to meet him. The young man ran toward his father, and they embraced each other for a long time before pulling apart. The old man welcomed him warmly, and he responded with deep respect.

He then took a seat in one of the elegant chairs, and for the first time, I got a good look at him. This young man was exceptionally handsome—so much so that I won’t even attempt to describe his beauty; you should just imagine it yourselves.

As soon as he sat down, the entire Meerah family gathered, each of them full of excitement. The house was filled with people—young and old, men and women—everyone embracing him and saying something to him.

Among them, I noticed a strikingly beautiful young woman—so stunning that I had to blink twice, thinking she might be a supernatural being. But no, she was human. I couldn’t help but admire her beauty. She smiled continuously, gazing at Dr. Mahish. He, too, looked at her, but unlike her, he did not smile back; instead, he looked away.

Food was served, and everyone sat down to eat and drink. The crowd outside also enjoyed their share of the meal. People were talking, sharing their thoughts.

After a while, Dr. Mahish got up and left for another part of the house. The beautiful young woman followed him. He pointed out a particular room—it was well-designed, elegant. He removed his shirt, and she helped him take off his shoes. Without saying a word to her, he headed straight for the bathroom.

She was left wondering why he had changed toward her. They had never been like this before. Could it be exhaustion? As she was lost in thought, he finished his shower, got dressed, performed his prayers, and left the room without acknowledging her. She followed him back to the large parlor where the family continued chatting.

Muhammad Meerah, the elderly man, was a highly respected leader in the village of Salihawa. Everyone revered him and obeyed his commands. Whatever he decreed, no one dared to oppose. He was beloved by his people, especially the farmers and the poor, whom he always supported.

As he addressed the crowd gathered for the hospital inauguration, he expressed gratitude to God and reiterated his promise that his son, Mahish, had returned safely and would start working at the hospital as promised. The people cheered in excitement.

Later, he went inside to fetch Meera and introduce him to the community as the chief doctor of the hospital. When he entered the house, he found Meera chatting happily with the family—a sight that warmed his heart, as it had been years since he had seen Meera so at ease with them.

Excitedly, he told Mahish to come forward and address the crowd. However, Mahish hesitated and asked, “Dad, what kind of hospital is this?”

His father replied, “Mahish, time is short; let’s go. I’ll explain later. I must have forgotten to tell you that I built this hospital for our people. I promised them a hospital to make medical care more accessible, so they don’t have to travel far to the city. And you, my son, are the one who will manage it. That’s why I encouraged you to study medicine. I made this promise, and today I am fulfilling it.”
